Fundraising Manager

Merrifield Consultants are delighted to be supporting a fantastic international development charity to help recruit a Fundraising Manager.

This role will manage its own portfolio of low to mid-level trusts and foundations and individual donor relationships and will play a key role in supporting the Director and wider team on the engagement and stewardship of our high-level partnerships. The role will also take a lead organisationally on prospect research and the delivery of a high-quality supporter experience.

  • Salary: £33,808 – 37,028 per annum
  • Contract: Full-time, permanent
  • Location: Islington
  • Working pattern: Hybrid, 2 days per week in the office
  • Closing date: Reviewing applications on a rolling basis

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of low to mid-level Trusts and Foundations and individual donor relationships.
  • Lead and oversee the fundraising strategy and ensure its implementation.
  • Draft grant applications and project proposals (grant writing) for private philanthropy.
  • Undertake detailed prospect research and identify the most appropriate funding and fundraising opportunities, with a focus on trusts and foundations and individual philanthropy.
  • Lead on organisation of fundraising-focused events and support donor engagement at policy and advocacy-focused events.
  • Manage and oversee the charity’s fundraising campaign strategies, including the biannual online match-funding campaigns.

Person Specification

  • Extensive experience of working in a fundraising capacity within an NGO.
  • Proven track record in Trusts and Foundations fundraising, as well as
  • demonstrated experience with individual giving.
  • Proven track record of developing impactful and engaging proposals and communications to generate income and build relationships.
  • Proven prospect research skills and experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to proof-read.
  • Excellent written communication in English.
